A divine musical comedy πŸ˜‡πŸ™πŸΌ

The 1992 comedy film Sister Act starring Whoopi Goldberg is a classic from my childhood! It’s hilarious.

The story of Deloris, the night club singer, who after witnessing a murder needs to go take on a new identity and go into hiding in the most unlikely of places she’d ever be found – a convent!

Whoopi Goldberg is actually one of the producers behind the musical adaptation of Sister Act, which first premiered back in 2006.

This week at Milton Keynes Theatre, Sister Act is here with their UK tour production. With Lesley Joseph as Mother Superior and Sandra Mervin as Deloris Van Cartier.

Lesley Joseph is another big blast from the 90s, famous for being in comedy show Birds of a Feather, which I loved!

Last night was a very wet and windy trip to Milton Keynes Theatre. The season has hard shifted and coats are now mandatory.

Inside though it was bright and warm for Sister Act. Mr LouBou loved the live orchestra and the bold, atmospheric set with an amazing stained glass window that even Joseph’s coat would’ve been proud of!

And with December nearly knocking down our door, there was even a lovely nudge to Christmas in the story too. Aww!

This is an energetic and bubbly production, with all the glitz you need to shake off the miserable outside.

Sister Act is at Milton Keynes Theatre Monday 21 – Saturday 26 November 2022

Tickets were kindly gifted by Milton Keynes Theatre but they have zero control over what I post, or say about the performance – that’s all me! Thank you for your support. πŸ–€
